A Word from the Secretary of State

Our unique first-in-the-nation presidential primary continues to intrigue those Americans who have long appreciated its proven process of selecting presidents of the United States. The Library & Archives of New Hampshire's Political Tradition recently established at the State Library is a major step toward preservation of this political history and memorabilia.

One primary objective is to reach our most precious assets, the children, to stir their interest in government and participatory citizenship. The new concept of collectible trading cards with the study guide, A Primary Tale, will be presented as a gift to all the fourth grades of New Hampshire, as a visual aid to supplement their study of our state's history. Perhaps the package will captivate young minds and will enhance their understanding of the unique tradition that has proven to be "the road to the White House."
