The Political Library is hosting a day-long workshop for teachers and education professionals interested in learning how to implement Kids Voting NH in your school and your community.  This workshop is free of charge and participating teachers will recieve professional develeopment credits from the Department of Education.  Read below to learn more about the workshop or click here to download the registration form.

8:30 to 8:45 a.m. Welcoming Remarks from the Political Library and the NH Department of Education 

8:45 to 10:30 a.m. Workshop Keynote: Kids Voting NH in Your Classroom presented by Lars H. Sandstrom, Executive Director, Kids Voting Minnesota
An overview of the Kids Voting USA curriculum will be provided by colleagues from Minnesota and North Carolina Kids Voting affiliates.  This session will introduce the curriculum and content areas covered by the national curriculum.  An audio visual demonstration will review examples of curriculum activities and the ability to choose appropriate activities for your students and your lesson plans.  Presenters will also leave ample time to answer questions on implementing the curriculum in your classroom.

10:30 to 10:45 a.m.  Break

10:45 to 12:00 p.m. Break-out Session: Curriculum Use by Grade
Session facilitators will provide suggestions, tips and answer questions on applying the Kids Voting curriculum according to your classroom or school grade level.  Three concurrent sessions will cover curriculum implementation for Elementary, Middle or High School Level.

12:00 to 12:45 p.m.  Lunch provided in The Last Chapter Pub located across the street in the Student Center

12:45 to 2:00 p.m. Voting in the Community 
A panel discussion will cover the authentic voting experience including coordinating and implementing student voting at polling sites on Election Day.  Panelists will include business leaders, students, and educators who have volunteered their time on Election Day as well as Keynote Speakers.

2:00 to 2:30 p.m. Workshop Review
Dedicated time for questions, follow up and next steps for bringing Kids Voting NH to your community.
