How to Donate to the Collection

The New Hampshire Political Library expands its permanent collection mainly through the donation of objects. Objects must meet the following basic criteria in order to be accepted:
  • Materials must relate to New Hampshire presidential primary campaigns, general presidential election campaigns, New Hampshire gubernatorial and congressional campaigns, New Hampshire political culture, or media coverage related to any of the above.

  • Duplicate materials may be accepted for the Education collection, which is a hands-on collection used for school and adult public programs. These objects are not preserved to the same standard as the permanent collection.
Donors to the Library’s collections are required to sign a Deed of Gift that conveys the transfer of ownership rights to the Library, including decisions on exhibition, conservation, reproduction rights (excluding copyrighted items) and dispersal.

To speak to a staff person about a potential collections donation, please call Lori Fisher, Director of Programs & Collections, at (603) 225-4617, extension 10, or e-mail at lfisher@politicallibrary.org.
